Spring & Summer Curriculum 2017
This Spring & leading us all the way to the Summer holidays we have a nursery topic involving classic nursery stories! As children ourselves we loved reading or having these stories read to us & now feel it is our turn to share them with the children.
There is a surprising amount to learn from them, including; sharing (Goldilocks & the Three Bears), climbing skills (Jack & the Bean Stalk), strength (Three Little Pigs), growth & plants (The Enormous Turnip) & the list goes on.
A summary of the plan for each half-term is detailed below…
Alongside our topic we will be watching closely as the seasons change, making the most of all the learning opportunities that are afforded to us as the days grow lighter, longer & warmer.
We will plant seeds & bulbs, explore wildlife & weather & spend an increasing amount of time learning outside.
You can check out our continuous provision board in the main nursery space which highlights the different activities taking place in nursery across the term. This is updated each half-term in line with key person planning & our long-term & short-term plans.
